Nature walks Canberra part 1
I’ve joined members of the Australian Native Plans Society, Canberra for two walks to identify a range of native plants.
The first walk was in Tuggeranong Hill Nature Reserve. A mainly gentle walk to find and identify numerous smaller plants and ground covers, plus some larger specimens such as Allocasuarinas and Brachychitons.
The second walk was more challenging, Yarrabi Track in the Namadgi National Park. Beautiful country from Thawa southwards. The track was a 4km loop through Peppermint Gums, delicate low shrubs and up a steep incline to the viewing platform (around 1450m above sea level). Spectacular views from here.
